Anna comes from a family of artists. Her great-grandfather, Valentin Bernadsky, was a distinguished People’s Artist of the Soviet Union and Russia, and one of the founders of the Crimean painting school.

Since 2020, Anna has been working as a contemporary artist and has been actively developing in this field. Since 2021, her works have been collected and sold worldwide, most of them now residing in private collections across the United States and Europe.
Currently, the artist lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia.
Anna Bernadskaya was born in 1996 in Kamchatka Peninsula, in the Russian Far East. During her school years, she attended an art school and dreamed of moving to Russia’s cultural capital, Saint Petersburg. At the age of 17, she entered a university in Saint Petersburg to study graphic design, which became her first major step into the world of art and the creative environment. Her student years defined her future inseparable connection with art.

After graduating from university, she worked as a graphic designer but soon realized that she wanted to create artworks by hand and paint with oils, as she felt deeply inspired by the magic of the process. For 2 years, she studied under one of Saint Petersburg’s well-known artists, Gennady Zubkov, a direct follower of the Russian avant-garde school and a renowned student of Vladimir Sterligov (himself a student of Kazimir Malevich).

About art
For the most part, my works are figurative and focused on solitary figures. I prefer such works because of the emotional impact that can be conveyed through the human face and body.
In my paintings, I combine elements of design and painting into a unified whole on the canvas. I also enjoy using various techniques in a single painting, which gives them a special uniqueness.
Studying graphic design at university laid the foundation for my thinking and understanding of art. Design significantly influenced my development as an artist and my perception of art through the prism of simple forms and color combinations. I have always had a special passion for working with color, searching for perfect color combinations. Color is a powerful tool in art, affecting the perception of an object. Through color in my paintings, I convey specific emotions, feelings, and states.
In painting, I have always been inspired by the diversity of artistic styles and the multitude of techniques used by artists. I am gradually creating my own unique style, absorbing techniques from various masters. In my paintings, I combine the techniques of the old masters with the modern school of painting. My works often feature meticulously detailed faces contrasted with boldly rendered brushstrokes of the background.
To this day, I can spend hours selecting the perfect color combinations for my future works and derive genuine pleasure from this process.
